The rail mounted gantry crane is applicable to remove, load, and unload international standard containers. It is a highly efficient loading and unloading equipment, mainly for in ports, docks, and inland container yards. The main function is stacking, handling, and transshipment of containers from ships to land transport. The main beam is the core structure that bears the weight of the container. It is usually a box-shaped section to ensure strength. Its outriggers connect to both ends of the main beam. Thus, it could support the entire RMG crane and allow it to move along tracks on the ground.

Container Spreader

• Main beam: box or truss structure, supporting the hoisting mechanism and trolley running.
• Outrigger: rigid support structure, connecting the main beam and traveling cart, transferring the load to the rail, ensuring the stability of the whole machine.
• Traveling cart: drive the crane to move along the track, equipped with a motor, reducer, and wheel set to realize accurate positioning and efficient operation.
• Hoisting mechanism: composed of motor, drum, wire rope, and container spreader, responsible for vertical lifting and lowering of containers, with speed regulation and anti-shaking function.
• Trolley running mechanism: drives the spreader to move horizontally along the main beam, adopting frequency conversion control to realize smooth loading and unloading and accurate alignment.
• Electrical control system: integrating PLC and frequency conversion technology, coordinating the action of each organization, supporting automatic operation, and fault monitoring.
• Safety protection devices: including limiters, overload limiters, and windproof anchors to ensure the safety of the whole machine.
