Dam crest gantry crane is a common equipment in hydraulic engineering, mainly used for the opening and closing of sluice gates. The appearance of the Dam crest gantry crane improves the speed of gate opening and closing, and also has a good auxiliary role for the operator.

The cart of the Dam crest gantry crane moves in the direction of the dam body, and the trolley moves in the direction of the water flow. Generally, there are multiple sets of grab beams, which can open and close the multi-hole gates and trash racks on different centerlines of the dam. The upstream or downstream outriggers of the gantry crane are equipped with slewing cranes, and the slewing radius of each slewing crane can reach 180°, which can assist the transportation and installation of the equipment on the dam.
