The rail mounted container gantry crane is applicable to remove, load, and unload international standard containers. It is a highly efficient loading and unloading equipment, mainly for in ports, docks, and inland container yards. The main function is stacking, handling, and transshipment of containers from ships to land transport. The main beam is the core structure that bears the weight of the container. It is usually a box-shaped section to ensure strength. Its outriggers connect to both ends of the main beam. Thus, it could support the entire RMG crane and allow it to move along tracks on the ground.

Rail mounted container gantry crane is appropriate for handling, loading, and unloading ISO containers and railway-wide containers. With multiple steel wheels and electricity power, it consists of a gantry mechanism, trolley assembly, gantry frame, power system,m and special container spreader.
The rail mounted container gantry cranes are divided into different forms based on the structure of the main beam and supporting legs.
(1) The double cantilever track container gantry crane requires the container to pass through the inner space of the two side door legs. So the width direction clearance inside the door legs is relatively large. Depending on the form of the main beam, double cantilever RMG generally adopts a "U" shape with the upper part of the door legs. And there is a "π" shape with the upper part of the door legs. The structure of the cantilever track type is relatively simple because there is no need to pass through the space inside the door legs.
(2) Compared to shore-mounted container cranes, RMG gantry cranes have lower trolley speeds and generally do not have anti-roll devices. If users request to reduce operational intensity and improve productivity, we could install anti-roll devices. For rope-type lifting mechanisms, roll reduction could be achieved by applying damping to the ropes. For rigid lifting mechanisms, roll reduction is generally achieved through rigid components.
